Applications are invited for a research and teaching postdoctoral fellowship to be held under the auspices of the Department of Philosophy at McMaster University during the 2018-19 academic year. We welcome candidates with any number of research and teaching interests, including but not limited to philosophy of law, feminist philosophy, ethics, applied ethics, metaethics, and political philosophy.

Pending funding and at the discretion of the department, this position is renewable, but not beyond a second year.

Renumeration: $50,000 per year plus $5,000 for Research or Publication Expenses
This position is included within the Canadian Union of Public Employees (“CUPE”) Local 3906 Unit 3, representing Post-Doctoral Fellows.
Description of Role:
The fellow will be expected to present a paper as part of the department’s weekly speaker series and to contribute to the intellectual life of our community of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.
The fellow will also teach two courses per academic year, one in the fall and one in the winter term. Qualifications:
The successful applicant must have completed all requirements for the PhD in philosophy by the starting date of the position, July 1, 2018. To be eligible to apply, the applicant must have neither held a tenure-track position nor been awarded a PhD in philosophy prior to January 1, 2013.
